Cop who killed Jessica King to be sentenced today
He’s expected to get the mandatory life sentence with a period after which he can be paroled.
Lincoln McKoy — who was assigned to the Buff Bay CIB Office in Portland — shot dead Jessica, a cashier of Mil Bank District, at the Errol Flynn Marina in Port Antonio on August 4, 2013 and attempted suicide.
The two were in a relationship that went sour.
INDECOM arrested and charged McKoy for the murder of King on September, 4, 2013.
McKoy’s trial began in the Home Circuit Court, in downtown Kingston on April 4 and concluded with his conviction two Wednesdays ago.
King’s father, Fitz, told Loop News after McKoy’s conviction that the cop should die for what he did.
“If you take a life you should lose yours too. If he had lost his life I would feel more joyful,” King said.
