Cops recover high powered weapon

A man was Tuesday morning shot and killed and a firearm recovered during a police operation along Nelson Road, Kingston.

Police report that they went to the area to carry out a search when they came under fire.

Allegations are the fire was returned and the man found suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injury, the police report.

A sub-machine gun was also recovered in the operation.
