‘Doctor Strange’ Set Photos Show Benedict Cumberbatch in Action
New Doctor Strange set photos have arrived. And they are AWESOME! if you weren't excited about the movie before, these latest paparazzi shots will surely get you pumped. It was easy to forget about Doctor Strange with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in theaters. And Marvel has been placing all of its promotion efforts on Captain America: Civil War. But if there was any doubt that Doctor Strange might be a stinker, this latest sneak peek helps wash some of those thoughts deep into the gutter.
And trust us. Marvel wants you to see these photos. They are too good. Too polished. This is definitely an inside job helped along by the studio, allowing various photographers close enough to the set that bothBenedict Cumberbatch andChiwetel Ejiofor smile for the camera. We're not sure what is going on in these photos, but it sure looks exciting!
Doctor Strange has been shooting since the beginning of the year, and it obviously appears that production is continuing on this week. The Marvel movie has moved its base of operations out of Pinewood Shepperton Studios. Now, the film crew has infiltrated the streets of New York City, where the Sorcerer Supreme is up against an evil foe.
And at his side is Chiwetel Ejiofor in costume as http://movieweb.com/doctor-strange-movie-set-video-photos-mordo-wong/Baron Mordo. Perhaps one of the Hell's Kitchen denizens will get in on the action, too. We've heard that this movie is connected toMarvel's Iron Fist, which will debut next year on Netflix. Could Doctor Strange help set up the show this November? We know the series already has a leading man in Finn Jones, who will be playing Danny Rand. And just yesterday, Jessica Henwick was cast as leading lady Colleen Wing. It really wouldn't surprise us if either showed up on set.
We haven't seen anything from Doctor Strange since late February. Back then, the Marvel adventure was shooting on the streets of Nepal before heading into the studio. Video from the set at that time gave us our first look at Benedict Wong as Wong. The cast also includes Rachel McAdamsas the female lead, rumored to be Night Nurse and Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West. Tilda Swinton stars as the Ancient One, who bestows Dr. Stephen Strange with his strange new powers. Amy Landecker andScott Adkins also star in unspecified roles. It isn't known how much longer production will last on Doctor Strange, but the studio has set a November 4 release date.
Scott Derrickson is directing Doctor Strange from a script by Jon Spaihts, based on the comic book character created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Production on Doctor Strange will be an international affair, with shooting taking place in London, New York, Hong Kong and Kathmandu, Nepal. Now that production has shifted to New York, hopefully we'll get to see more video from the set. We'll keep you posted as soon as more footage and photos surface, but util then, take a look at the photos below.
