UPDATE: Detectives probe whether cop's son committed suicide

Police detectives are investigating whether a boy, who fatally shot himself on Monday night, committed suicide.
The dead child has been identified as JQuan Forbes, the son of a policeman and a student of Wolmer's Boys' School in Kingston.
Initial reports reaching Loop News were that the boy accidentally shot himself but detectives said on Tuesday morning that they are probing several angles in the matter - one of them is that the child may have intended to kill himself.
Reports are that the father had an argument with JQuan about an email, and instructed the boy to complete his homework. The policeman reportedly fell asleep and was awakened by an explosion in the house. The body of the teen was found on the floor in his room close to the service firearm of his father.
Sources report that a suicide note was also found at the scene.
Meanwhile, tributes have been pouring in for the child on social media.
"You left without saying goodbye. Without even a warning. Now I just have memories you were the son I never had," said one grieving woman.
She added: "My JQuan Forbes aka QQ. My shining star gone but will never be forgotten."
