Chase Your Dreams: Grace presents $1.67 million to Tacius Golding High

This week, hundreds of Tacius Golding High School teachers and students excitedly gathered for Grace Kennedy's presentation of the first of three instalments that will total $1.67 million dollars to their school.
“We are elated,” said Principal Lena Russell, “Becoming a winner in the Grace Chase Your Dreams Promotion has given us a long jump towards upgrading the sporting facilities of our institution.”
The $1.67 million forms part of the Grace Athletic Dream Fund which has, this year, awarded approximately $5 million dollars to High Schools across Jamaica.  “All Schools that entered the ISSA Boys & Girls Champs had a fair chance of winning,” stated Angella Black, Grace Brand Manager, “and one school was drawn for each county.”
Tacius Golding High School met with members of the Grace Team and technical consultant David Riley, President of Jamaica’s Track and Field Coaches Association, to discuss how to proceed.
The aim is to use the funds to assist with the building of a standard 400m track with football, cricket & netball facilities.
“Our new facilities will allow us to host track meets, save the school financially by cutting down on many away games, and help to galvanize the community,” shared Russell.
“Winning the funds will not only help to improve the sports programme,” noted Oshane Campbell, one of Tacius Golding’s leading student athletes, “But it will also motivate our team to perform well in Champs, hopefully winning overall at some point in the future.”
Presentation of the cheque took place during a morning devotion that included a live band, inspirational singing, and prizes to students who excelled in the recent Language Week activities.  Attendees gathered neatly in hallways overlooking a well-manicured lawn and garden to witness the school’s bursar, Neslia Brown, receive the cheque from Grace.
In addressing the school, Grace Consumer Services Manager, Angella Reid, disclosed that Grace Kitchens and their nutritionist would assist further by providing invaluable guidance regarding sports nutrition.
“We [Grace] will continue to inspire and feed Jamaica,” she said.  “Now that you have chased your dream, it’s time to live the dream.”
Following on the heels of the successful Chase Your Dreams promotion, the Grace Live the Dream promotion continues until July 31, 2016.  Five Grace labels and a slogan allows entrants the possibility to win monthly prizes of 1 year of bill payment, 1 year of groceries, 1 full living room suite (including a 48” flat screen), and a 3 door refrigerator full of Grace beverages;  in addition to fortnightly prizes of a refrigerator and groceries.
Reid pointed out: “What is good for Grace is good for Jamaica and what is good for Jamaica is good for Grace.”
