Heelz N Wheelz to pull out stops

Car competition event Heelz N Wheelz returns this Sunday, May 22, to the National Stadium Car Park for what Andrew Leesing, event organiser, calls one of the best stagings ever. Start is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
“We want people to come and be surprised,” he told Auto.
Rather than just the static display of cars to be judged, Leesing wants a more participatory event and has shaken things up by adding several new categories. Nestled in with the standard Best Honda, Best Toyota, are Best Anti-Lag, Best Burnout, Loudest Exhaust, and for those wanting to prove how low their vehicle is, a limbo contest for cars. Another addition is a VIP section to feature only the finest in high-end luxury vehicles.
“We want the owners to feel the appreciation they have in their pride and joy from the crowd as well,” he said.

Leesing has also responded to local and international trends with Best EG/EK, Best Toyota Mark X, and Best Stance. The first and second categories reference the current revival of the Honda Civic model years 1992 to 2000, while the larger, more modern Mark X has become a popular sedan to modify. Stance refers to the Southern Californian style of narrow tyres stretched over deep-dished rims with the vehicle’s chassis slammed as low over its wheels as possible. Hosted by Yanique ‘Curvy Diva’ Barrett, the competition section of the show will get off to a start at 3:00 pm sharp.
“We want to remind competitors that there are a limited number of spots so they must arrive early,” he explained.
Throughout the afternoon there will be a fun zone for the younger set, while later in the evening there will be an entertainment package with a performance from Laden. Leesing expects a good turnout from the modified and performance community.
“We’ll be having the major car clubs, plus I’ll be bringing back the trucks to Kingston,” he added.
