Seaga makes light of death rumours

Former Prime Minister Edward Seaga on Thursday poked fun at rumours suggesting that he had died.
Rumours of Seaga's death spread like wildfire online on Wednesday evening, triggering a number of persons to issue tributes to the former politician, Jamaica's fifth Prime Minister.
But the 85-year-old dispelled the rumour on Thursday when he attended the launch of the Creative Production and Training Centre's (CPTC) new cable channel, Jamvision, in Kingston.
Seaga confidante, Culture and Entertainment Minister Babsy Grange told audience members that the former Prime Minister asked her to tell them that "rumours of my demise are greatly exaggerated, as you can see I am very much still with you all."
Seaga later gave a speech on the CPTC, which he founded.
The former long-serving leader of the Jamaica Labour Party appeared at a JLP mass rally in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew days before the February 25 General Election, with the nostalgic declaration that something inside had inspired him to dust off his green shirt and shoes, to come out and give a hand to the Labour Party’s drive to ‘Prosperity’.
The JLP won the General Election.
