Taxi driver murdered in Half Way Tree

A taxi driver was shot dead in Half Way Tree on Sunday.

The dead man has been identified as 49-year-old Lloyd Aitken of a Hagley Park Road address in St Andrew.

Aitken was found slumped over the steering wheel of his taxi in the vicinity of the St Andrew Parish Church.

Police said they heard loud explosions and, when they rushed to the scene, found Aitken’s body with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

His attackers fled the scene before the cops arrived.
