Lecturer murdered at Green Acres home

A 61-year-old lecturer was Wednesday night shot and killed in Green Acres, Spanish Town, St Catherine.

He has been identified as Solomon McCalla, the dean of discipline at Trench Town Polytechnic in Kingston. 

Police report that McCalla, a former military man and leader in the group Fathers Inc, was at his home when it was invaded by gunmen who shot him several times and relieved him of his gun and other items.

The murder occurred about 9:00 PM.

His death has caused tension in Green Acres as he was reportedly held in high esteem by residents.
