Dr Ford’s bribery trial continues today


The attempting to pervert the course of justice trial of prominent Kingston medical doctor Jephthah Ford is to resume in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court, today.
Ford’s legal team is expected to continue questioning of the police officer who said the doctor bribed him.
Ford was charged in relation to a case involving two Surinamese citizens held in the island in March 2014 with foreign currency the equivalent of J$60 million.
Ford allegedly offered the police a sum of money for the release of the men.
He’s currently on $1 million bail.
Magistrate Simone Wolfe-Reece is presiding over the case.
Ford is being represented by attorney Patrick Bailey.  
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is prosecuting.
