Government cost spikes with Warmington appointment
Prime Minister Andrew Holness has put in place another minister of Government, slapping an additional cost of $6.3 million in salaries and allowances on the backs of Jamaicans.
Jamaica House confirmed Wednesday that Everald Warmington, the member of parliament for South West St Catherine, has been sworn in as a junior minister.
Warmington is now a state minister in the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM).
The addition of Warmington to the executive moves the cost of Holness' administration from roughly $155 million per year to $161 million.
