Bunting condemns murder of cop in St Elizabeth

Opposition Spokesperson on National Security, Peter Bunting, has condemned the murder of District Constable Lewis Robinson.
Robinson who was assigned to the Lacovia Police Station, is the third police officer killed since the start of the year.
He was shot in the face twice as he sat in his car at Cuffies Pen, in Lacovia, St Elizabeth on Monday morning. His attackers stole his licensed firearm.
“I am strongly supporting the call of Divisional Commander, Supt. Salmon for citizens to contact the police with information on the criminals responsible. I share his concern that persons heard the gunshots in the early morning and did not contact the Police. Citizens have a role to play in keeping their communities safe,” Bunting said.
The police have picked up a person of interest in relation to Robinson’s murder and has been questioning him.
