Jamaican businessman for ‘Undercover Boss’ show in the US

The experience of Jamaican businessman Lowell Hawthorne is scheduled to be featured on CBS's award-winning series, ‘Undercover Boss’ later this month.
Hawthorne, who is President and CEO of Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery & Grill, a totally Jamaican-owned chain of quick-service restaurants, has an enviable record in business in the US.
Golden Krust is among the fastest growing franchises in the US, with over 120 franchise restaurants cross nine states.
The company also operates a retail division that provides Jamaican patties to New York City public schools, the penal system, military channels and over 20,000 supermarkets, club stores and dollar stores across the US.
Based on an outline from CBS19, in the episode, Hawthorne goes undercover to unveil the business model’s strengths and flaws, as well as learn of the personal and professional issues that employees and franchise players face.
The episode is set to air on May 22 at 10 pm eastern standard time (EST).
Commenting on show, Hawthorne said the experience provided him with meaningful outlook into the Golden Krust brand.
"Being on 'Undercover Boss' provided a golden opportunity to get an inside look from the perspectives of the employee, the franchisee and the customer.  I walked away with an extraordinary sense of pride for our amazing employees. When it boils down to it, it's about our product and the committed people behind it," Hawthorne was quoted as saying.
He pointed to the company's mission to become the "King of Patty". For him, that is the mission, and everything the company does is with that in mind.
