Jamaican mother kills 7-month-old and 3-year-old with a bed sheet

A 40-year-old mother of two small children has been charged with murder after the infants were found dead during a holiday trip to Florida.
Sophia Hines, the mother of a seven-month-old son and three-year-old daughter, allegedly suffocated her children by holding a bed sheet over their mouths.
According to ABC-Action news, a court affidavit revealed that Hines called the relative she was staying with, telling the relative that she "needed to come home now."
When the relative arrived in the master bedroom, in which Hines had been staying, she found the two children lying side side-by-side on the bed, unresponsive.
When emergency responders arrived it was already too late, as both children were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, Hines admitted to taking a sheet and suffocating the seven-month-old first, then the little girl.
Hines' husband, Anthony Singleton, was distraught upon hearing the news and found it unbelievable and told international press that, “she was really good with kids.”
The father of the three-year-old toddler is said to reside in Hines’ native home, Jamaica.
