Suspect in murder of Mandeville businessman to face ID parade Friday

The man held in connection with the murder of Mandeville businessman Trevor Meikle is to face a series of identification parade on Friday.
He was questioned by detectives on Thursday in the presence of his attorney Peter Champagnie.
The popular businessman was murdered during the widespread power outage on Sunday, April 17.
Meikle, 76, was killed by a gunman after 9:00 pm when he dropped off his daughter — who was coming from the airport — at her home on Battersea Drive in Mandeville.
He and his wife were robbed of items including cash, jewellery, a mobile phone, and debit and credit cards.
The police are also seeking Steve Edwards of Islington, St Mary for questioning as the murder investigations continue.
It is being reported that a call was made by Edward’s girlfriend from a cellphone allegedly belonging to Meikle’s daughter.
Checks later revealed that the woman was in Islington, St Mary. The woman, along with Edwards’ brother were arrested.
When the woman was interrogated, she said that her boyfriend gave her the cellphone but the boyfriend disappeared.
