Unidentified body found floating in Negril; police clueless

The Negril Police in Westmoreland now seek the public’s assistance in identifying a male whose body was found afloat in the sea moments ago in West End on Friday, July 1.

The body is reportedly of fair complexion, medium build is about 170 centimetres tall (5 feet 7 inches).

The dead man is believed in his late fifties and was dressed in grey and black camouflage shorts and equipped with fins and goggles.

Reports are that about 8:45 pm, residents saw the body and alerted the police.

On their arrival, the body was retrieved from the water.

The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for a post mortem.

In the meanwhile, the Negril Police are asking anyone with information who can assist them in relation to identify the body to contact them at 957-4268, the police’s emergency 119 number or the nearest police station.
