GUILTY! Law student’s 'friends' in US plead guilty to scamming 89-y-o; will testify against her

e two co-conspirators charged in a case of Lotto scam along with Jamaican law student Teresa Wilson have pleaded guilty in the United States.
Yanique Chantel Coach and Dwayne Breary pleaded guilty for their role in a conspiracy to commit mail fraud that saw an89-year-old Virginian woman being conned out of US$282,600 between November 2014 and March 2015.
“Her co-conspirators have pleaded guilty and await sentencing,” US prosecutors responded to an email request fromLoop News for information. “Coach’s sentencing hearing has been set for 8/25/2016. Breary’s sentencing hearing has been set for 9/20/2016.”
Breary is expected to give evidence against Wilson when her case goes to trial, according to the plea agreement, a copy of which was provided to Loop News by the prosecution.
No trial date has been set for Wilson, who has been released on US $100,000 “personal security bond”, according to the prosecution.
“[Breary] agrees to cooperate fully with the United States in the investigation and prosecution of other persons, and to testify… fully and truthfully before any federal court proceeding or federal grand jury in connection with the charges in this case and other matters, such cooperation to further include a full and complete disclosure of all relevant information, including production of any and all books, papers, documents, and other objects in defendant's possession or control, and to be reasonably available for interviews which the United States may require,” said the plea agreement.
Both Coach and Breary are to make restitution to the victim. Coach is expected to be deported to Jamaica after serving her sentence.
The two are expected to serve reduced sentences.
Coach, 25, and 31-year-old Breary were arrested in April. Their arrest led to Wilson’s arrest on June 16. She too was charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud.
The elderly woman was conned out of her money after she was told that she needed to send cash to collect a US$3.5M winning in the Mega Millions Sweepstakes.
“From October 31, 2014, through November 25, 2014, the victim complied with the directions from the Mega Millions Sweepstakes callers and mailed $282,600 in cash to various locations in Florida and Georgia,” the prosecution said, following the arrests Coach and Breary in Florida.
