UPDATE: Murdered mother, son identified

lice have released the identity of the St James mother and her 12-year-old son who were murdered at home before dawn Wednesday.

They are 49-year-old Yvette McLean and Devontae Haughton of Tucker District.

The two were attacked about 2:52 this morning by gunmen who kicked open their door and started firing on them.

Two other family members at the house were not harmed.

The mother and her son were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Police are yet to establish a motive for the attack.
