'Taxi protest' on for a third day; hundreds left stranded

Police have assured that while scores of taxi operators continue to take to the streets to protest for a third day in St Thomas, order will be kept in the eastern parish.
Actions of the taxi operators have left hundreds of commuters stranded.
Taxi operators say they are angry that for months they have been calling on authorities to repair the bad roads in the parish but those calls continue to fall on deaf ears.
“We have been protesting from Monday and will not stop until we get some attention, the roads are in a deplorable condition and we want the matter to be addressed,” Lious Millwood, President of the St Thomas Taxi Association told Loop News.
“Because of this protest I was really inconvenienced as I was forced to walk miles to get transportation,” said Jermaine Williams, one man who claims he lives in the parish.
